Things are finally starting to settle down around the apartment. Ariel is able to get out and walk and Aydon seems to love the time in his stroller. Whenever he is awake he just stares around the apartment. It is really incredible to watch him take in everything for the very first time.

Grandpa hold Aydon in the light while we all admire him.

The first few days of Aydons life at home were spent making new acquaintances. His grandmother and aunt came in from Alaska to spend some time with him and help Ariel and I out around the house. Both purposes were and are greatly appreciated. Grandpa and Joan came in from NC and their presence is always welcome. They have an amazing ability to keep things in perspective and we hope that Aydon will be able to find the same comfort with them later in life that we do now.

  • Ariel…
It’s hard to find the little girl I used to know dancing in the fields at Earthlands in the all grown up package I see here, but when I look in your eyes I see her there. Wow! The last time I saw you I think you were about 10. It’s been a long time!

Congratulations on the birth of your son, what an amazing journey you must be on with that new life in your hands. It looks like you have a great business too, the photos in your portfolio galleries are beautiful.

Your dad called me the other day, as he is known to do occasionally, bless his heart. When he told me you were 20 and just had a baby I about fell off my chair. But, I guess if I’m getting older, all the kids must be too! Anyhow, just wanted to send blessings and light in your direction.

It was wonderful sharing those first few days with you. It has been really special to me. I know you’ll we wonderful parents. I was so impressed with the way you handled all the commotion and the array of visitors coming and going. I love you all and look forward to receiving news and photos, which will have to do until we get together again, hopefully soon. Love and hugs, JoanReplyCancel

Matt and I wanted to share a couple photo’s from today’s appointment with our midwife. I’m now 38 weeks and starting last night I began having minor contractions… Needless to say this was exciting progress for Matt and I. The appointment proved to be an interesting one this morning. After having an unusually high blood pressure reading my midwife decided to strap me up to a monitor for 20 minutes to see how Aydon was doing. Good news is he’s doing great, she said his heart rate is completely normal and he’s very active (I think he’s wondering what the heck is going on in there). It was fun to listen to his heart beat for such an extended time and Matt got some great video of it which we will have posted soon! I have another appointment scheduled for Friday to check blood pressure at which point they’ll decide what’s best to do. The way things are looking Aydon may be arriving a little sooner than we anticipated! I hope you enjoy the pictures, we’re looking forward to sharing more once our little boy comes!

Recently Matt and I put together a fashion shoot in this beautiful abandoned warehouse space out in South Boston. We had two girls come in to do the styling and makeup as well as four models from the area. It was a fun shoot, everybody was wonderful to work with and most importantly we got some great photos! I just wanted to share with you guys some of the best from the day… Matt and I are very excited about this upcoming wedding season. It will be fun to see how we can use our interest in fashion to create some beautiful and stylish images of your wedding day!

Just wanted to take a moment to post some photos of Ariel. We finally got some down time and decided to use it to go to the studio and take some photos. Wait a second… Anyway here they are. Don’t be afraid to leave comments about how beautiful she looks with her belly!!

As I look at pictures of my “baby” Ariel (when I left her for the first time as an infant, a sweet, quite elderly grandmother in an airport line reminded me that “once your baby, always your baby”) – it’s so amazing to realize that it wasn’t all that long ago. Now she’s a growing young woman, a talented and gifted artist/photographer, a dedicated partner, and will soon be a wonderful mother. So the generations of Mandeville, Wynne, and other branches of the family tree grows yet another branch – a tree that will see many generations of life as it continues its growth. It makes even more real the sense of responsibility to the seventh generation and for the stewardship that is expressed by many of the indigenous peoples for our home and mother earth.
It’s great to see photos of you, Ariel, whenever they get posted – I hope you will continue to document the changes in your family and life together. That as birth comes closer we will have the opportunity to glimpse the expectancy of a stretching belly; and after my grandson’s birth you will share many precious moments with your family and friends out here.ReplyCancel

Aww, Ariel you look so beautiful. Your mom showed these photos to everyone at my parent’s place the other night and we all agreed that you look amazing. I can’t wait to meet your baby boy! I saw the video of him kicking, so sweet. You guys are going to make great parents.

    I love you!
