Two Day Kayaking Adventure Elopement Near Stonington Maine
Watching seals play, gorgeous sunrises & sunsets, eating fresh seafood and having an island all to ourselves. These are just some of the highlights from this incredible multi day adventure elopement. Kate & Abigail said their vows alongside the ocean with no one watching except passing sail boats, an occasional seagull flying over head and whatever marine wildlife decided to pop its head up to see what was going on. We camped for two nights in solitude on a completely free island, Hells Half Acres; one of many islands that make up the incredible Maine Archipelago. It was the most incredible couple days for these two ladies to get married and I had a blast helping them craft this incredible wedding adventure!
- Saturday Lunchtime we arrived at the Stonington, Maine Public Boat Launch. We put all our gear by the boat that was going to transport our gear to the island, jumped in our kayaks and paddled the 2 miles to Hells Half Acres – Our home for the next three days!
- Sunday woke up at sunrise to enjoy the beauty. Cooked breakfast. A & Kate took some time to write their vows on separate sides of the island looking out at the most incredible vista. Lunchtime beer & snacks. Ceremony time in the afternoon on the far end of the island followed by champagne & first dance. Our boat captain arrived to take us on a sunset cruise. We arrived back after dark for campfire drinks & stargazing
- Monday Morning we broke down camp, piled our gear on the shoreline for the boat charter to pick up and hoped in our kayaks to paddle back to Stonington Maine.
